Maharashtra is the commercial and capital state of India. It is also one of the most progressive states in the country when it comes to construction and development. The Maharashtra State-Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is one of the best examples of this development – and the corporation that looks forward to more modernized solutions for the border checkpoints.
One of these solutions was the adoption of RFID Technology based Automatic Vehicle Identification technology that was a real game-changer on this border station. Disrupting the standard (manual) processes which resulted in high processing times and traffic jams, the RFID technology brought by the Bright Alliance Label solution completely reorganized the processes at this border station.
The Bright Alliance Label solution introduces a new system that is affixed on each vehicle – more precisely, its windshield. Same as a lot of other systems, it keeps the durability and resistance against strong weather – but most importantly, is perfectly located to ‘meet’ the RFID reader that is set at the side of each lane and films the tags with a special camera. Identifying and verifying the vehicle’s license plate number automatically, this entire technology minimizes the time spent at the border station for the users and eliminates any manual processing for the border officers.
Some of the most important vehicle information that is now scanned thanks to this new RFID technology includes: tax, permit, insurance, pollution and driver details – all taken from the central database whenever the camera scans the Bright Alliance Label.
